Maarten van der Spek joins TIAS Master of Real Estate

As of October 1st, Dr. Maarten van der Spek has joined TIAS School for Business and Society as an Adjunct Professor in Real Estate. Maarten will also continue his work as an independent advisor in the field of investment and strategy.

 

ABOUT MAARTEN VAN DER SPEK

Maarten van der Spek TIASMaarten van der Spek (1976) studied econometrics at VU University in Amsterdam. After graduating in 1999, he worked successively at ING Real Estate, PGGM, ADIA (Abu Dhabi Investment Authority), and at BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Management, always responsible for the investment strategy. In 2018, Maarten completed his doctoral thesis on “Improving Transparency of Indirect Private Real Estate” at Tilburg University. Since 2022, he has been combining his international real estate research with advisory work and guest lectures.

 

EXECUTIVE MASTER OF REAL ESTATE

Maarten van der Spek, along with Prof. Dr. Dirk Brounen and Maarten Donkers, will further develop the TIAS Master of Real Estate. Within this (Dutch taught) master’s program, Van der Spek will specialize in the themes of real estate data analytics and international investment dynamics. Van der Spek stated, “I am incredibly happy and proud to be a part of the team, and to contribute to the TIAS Master of Real Estate. Data analytics is a rapidly growing field and is becoming increasingly important within organizations. Therefore, it is important to provide a comprehensive approach to this within education.”
